SICILY
Wanderlust has struck me again, and escaping the seemingly endless German winter only fueled the urge. I had never been to Sicily before, so I decided to treat myself to warm air, cities full of history, stunning nature, and the sea. Off I went, camera always at the ready. Marrakesh is a visual symphony - a city where light dances through narrow alleys and colors explode at every turn. For a photographer, it’s a dreamscape of contrasts: ancient architecture meets bustling street life, shadows slice through intricate tilework, and vibrant souks burst with life, texture, and movement.
The medina is a maze of opportunity, each corner revealing a new story. Morning light seeps through wooden lattice roofs, casting patterned shadows on clay-red walls. The golden hour bathes the city in warm tones, turning even the simplest scenes - like a street vendor arranging spices - into captivating compositions.
Jemaa el-Fnaa, the heart of the city, is a spectacle of human emotion and interaction. Faces tell stories of tradition and resilience. Snakes, musicians, and food stalls offer endless chances for candid portraits and dynamic frames.
Step into the Majorelle Garden, and you’re in a world of bold cobalt blues, lush greens, and architectural harmony - a stark contrast to the raw energy of the old town. Every spot here is a postcard waiting to happen.
As night falls, Marrakesh doesn’t fade - it glows. Lantern-lit alleys and rooftop terraces create moody scenes perfect for long exposures and street photography. The city never stops offering something to capture.
